No, this isn't a concert with a famous rock star. It's a bridal shower and the star set to take the stage is the bride to be and the audience is filled with female family members and friends. Bridal showers have become a rite of passage in every bride-to-be's pre-wedding festivities. The future bride and groom register for gifts and someone from the wedding party throws a party for the bride. It's usually only for the ladies and is meant to be a day where the ladies get together for lunch, desert, a good dose of gossip and of course, gifts for the bride. The usually fare at the bridal shower are things from the couple's gift registry. However, it may be fun to step away from the normal gift exchange of towels and kitchen utensils and instead give the bride-to-be some unique bridal shower favors. How Unique Are Unique Bridal Shower Favors? You can be as unique as your little heart wants, however, be tasteful. No racy lingerie here (save that for the bachelorette party!) Instead some ideas for unique bridal shower favors can be things like expensive hair products that she would never give herself or maybe it's a gift certificate for some fine cuisine at the swankiest restaurant in town. Make sure it makes the bride feel special or pampered so she can stress less before her big day. Some other unique bridal shower favors can be things she can use during the wedding to spice things up. It should be things she wouldn't necessarily thing of getting herself. Examples include bouquet jewelry to snazz up her bouquet of flowers (hey, maybe you'll catch it) or maybe unity sand ceremony kits for display during the reception. Other ideas that should be explored are things the couple can use during their honeymoon. Are they going to Spain? Then get them a good Spanish-to-English translation dictionary so they can communicate with the locals. Or if they are hitting up an exotic beach locale, give her some cute sandals, a big beach towel and a good bottle of suntan lotion. Or give her a gift that will help surviving her first year of marriage possible. If you are married, a tip book of how to deal with the in-laws will surely be appreciated. Or a book of sports terms (if she's not spots inclined) will help her decode her husband's obsession. Your Options Are Endless You truly have (almost) free reign in picking out unique bridal shower favors. The key is to keep it out of the ordinary but find a way to tailor it to the bride's unique personality. Chances are that the bride will remember your gift over all of the towels, picture frames and vacuums she is sure to receive from others. |
