5 Ways To Reuse Your Bridal Jewelry

November 28th, 2007

Many brides store their bridal gowns after their wedding, never to be worn again. After spending several hundreds of dollars on a wedding dress, it’s a wonder that more brides do not rent their wedding attire. While there are less useful ways to reuse a bridal gown, fortunately, reusing bridal jewelry is not quite as complex. As a former bride, you may consider the following uses for your wedding jewelry.

Scrapbook
If you find that scrap booking is one of your favorite past times, then you have probably already started a wedding scrapbook. One suggestion that you might consider is dedicating a page or two to highlight your bridal attire. On this page you might include a photo of yourself in your wedding ensemble. Then you may embellish the page with a swatch of your bridal gown and veil. To top it all off, you may consider attaching your entire bridal jewelry set or in part to your scrapbook page—this will give your collage that extra Bling!

Prom
You might consider preserving your bridal jewelry in a safe place and saving it for your daughter, niece, or Goddaughter to wear to her prom. What a kind gesture!

Something Old
Although having children may be years down the line, it’s perfectly okay to start planning ahead. Every bride needs “something old” to wear down the aisle on her special day. Why not your bridal jewelry? You might consider saving your bridal jewelry for your daughter, niece, or goddaughter to wear on her wedding day.

Anniversary Party
Many couples choose to celebrate their milestone-wedding anniversaries. Whether it’s your first, fifth, tenth, fifteenth, twentieth, twenty-fifty, fiftieth, or sixtieth wedding anniversary, wearing your bridal jewelry to the celebration is the perfect complement to such a special event.

Bar Mitzvah /Cotillion
There is always a reason to celebrate your own milestones or that of other members of your family. Wearing your bridal jewelry to your son’s, daughter’s, niece’s, or nephew’s Bar Mitzvah or Cotillion is another great alternative to repurposing your wedding jewelry.

You may find plenty of opportunities to wear your wedding jewelry after your special day. The important factor to keep in mind is that preserving the jewelry from your wedding day will help to keep a lasting memory of your wedding day. Finding a new purpose for something as sentimental as your bridal jewelry makes your jewelry that much more special.
